HD Shipping Scales

The HD Series MEANS Heavy Duty. These scales are extra durable and designed for shipping, weight checking, and all light industrial uses. They have a built in RS232 Computer port and come with the correct RS232 cable.

You can use the HD as a standalone scale or plug it into your computer to tie in with windows CE based software (not included). The HD-150 & HD-300 are both UPS® and USPS DAZZLE® COMPATIBLE (PLUG AND PLAY)

Their rugged Heavy Duty design has made them a proven winner for warehouses everywhere. Adjustable rubber feet keep this scale stable and level on all surfaces.

The HD comes with an AC Adaptor and 6ft RS232 Cable. The HD can be also be powered by AA batteries for portable weighing.  The display is extra large LCD with an intuitive readout and easy to understand buttons.

HD-150/HD-300 RS-232 Interface protocol:

The RS232 interface of HD shipping scale has two work modes: SCI.1 (factory default setting) and SCI.0 (to select the work mode, please refer the HD-150/HD-300 user manual ).

When the work mode “SCI.1” (Serial Communication Interface transmitting and receiving data format”) is selected, The HD shipping scale can work with the UPS®Worldship® Program. HD’s data transmitting or receiving format is the same as the Toledo® PS60.

When the work mode “SCI.0” is selected and scale’s “DATA” is pressed or the carriage return (0d hex) is received, HD shipping scale will transmit weight,unit,stability,over/down or low voltage message according to the following protocol:

Baud rate: 9600bps

Start bit: 1 bit

Data bits: 8 bits

Stop bit: 1 bit

Parity: none

The scale transmits 14 bytes ASCⅡ data each time: (Byte1) (Byte2) (Byte3) (Byte4) (Byte5)……(Byte8) (Byte9) (Byte10) (Byte11) (Byte12) (Byte14)

the details are as follows:

1=3D “:” starting “W” means that the following 7 (By te3……Byte9) bytes are weight;

3D“= M” means that the following 7 (Byte3……Byte9) bytes are message (e.g. “OVER”);

Byte 3=3D “-” means Byte3…Byte9 is neg= ative weight 3D “ ” me= ans Byte3…Byte9 is positive weight or other message

Byte 4.5.6.7.8.9 =3D xxxxxx means current weight or other message

Byte 10.11=3D“lb” means that the weight unit is lb;

3D “kg” means the weight unit is kg;

Byte 12=3D “S” means the readings are stable;

"3D" means the readings are unstable;

Byte 13=3D “L” means the low voltage 3D “ ” means normal voltage;

Byte 14=3Dcarriage return (0d hex);

Example:

1. When scale indicator is displaying R= 20;123.45kg” , and the scale is stable , the power is not low voltage and data received = is “0d (hex)” or “DATA” key been pressed, the scale will send out following 14 bytes : (3Ah)(57h)(20h)(31h)(32h)(33h)(2Eh)(34h)(35h)(6Bh)(67h)(53h)(20h)(0Dh ) : W 123.45 kg S

2. When scale indicator is displaying R= 20;-234.5lb” , scale is unstable , low voltage and received “0d (hex)” or 8220;DATA” key been pressed, the scale will send out following 14 bytes : (3Ah)(57h)(2Dh)(32h)(33h) (34h) (2Eh) (35h)(30h)(6Ch)(62h)(20h)(4Ch)(0Dh) : W - 234.50l b L

3. When scale indicator is displaying “_____” , current weight unit is “kg”, scale is stable , not low voltage and received “0d (hex)” or “DATA” key been pressed,= the scale will send out following 14 bytes : (3Ah)(4Dh)(20h)(64h)(6Fh)(77h)(6Eh)(20h)(20h)(6Bh)(67h)(53h)(20h)(0Dh= ) : M down = kg S
